Supporting projects to restore the planet’s endangered wildlife and habitats
Global Wildlife Fund invests in high impact conservation projects that are making a difference on the ground, protecting and restoring wildlife populations and habitats in iconic areas including the savannas and rainforests of Africa, the Andes/Amazon region in South America and biodiversity hotspots in Asia and the Pacific.
By making a tax-deductible gift to Global Wildlife Fund, Australians can support effective conservation projects combining good science and strong community engagement. Be part of an Australian initiative delivering measurable results for the planet’s threatened species – from rhinos, snow leopards and African wild dogs to hummingbirds, macaws and birds of paradise.

Our focus
We work with local partners in selected high-priority areas around the world
Our initial focus includes:
- Sub-Saharan Africa
- The Andes-Amazon (South America)
- New Guinea and the Pacific
- Asian hotspots
These locations have been chosen because:
- They support high concentrations of threatened and endemic wildlife and ecosystems.
- Global Wildlife Fund can identify local partners with strong capability and integrity.
- Targeted investment by Global Wildlife Fund in these areas can make a measurable difference.
- Investment in conservation projects can deliver important social and economic benefits for local communities.

Projects
Our purpose
To help restore the world’s wildlife populations and habitats
Global Wildlife Fund is an Australian charity that partners with local conservation organisations around the world to support effective, science-based projects designed to restore wildlife populations and habitats.
Our approach is unique – we carefully select overseas partners and projects so that your tax deductible gift is invested wisely in priority locations in Africa, South America and the Asia-Pacific. We negotiate project funding agreements, track the progress of projects and report back on outcomes and metrics.
Our projects include translocations of wildlife, funding the acquisition of land for private (non-profit) reserves and initiatives to ensure local communities benefit from conservation.

Meet the team
